Prescott Valley At-A-Glance
Of the Tri Cities, Prescott Valley is mid-range in size.
But that's today. Prescott Valley's potential is enormous. With an exceedingly strong economic development team, Prescott Valley is expanding its borders and business opportunities.
The Town of Prescott Valley is located at 5,100 feet in a valley between the Bradshaw and Mingus Mountains. The town has gone to great effort to protect yesterday, today and tomorrow in terms of its
leadership, people, services and amenities.
When gold was found in the Bradshaw Mountains in 1864, Prescott Valley began to grow. The US Calvary from Prescotts Fort Whipple used the natural benefits of Glassford Hill as a heliograph site
for signal mirroring to other army units in skirmishes with the Apaches.
In the 1900s, the Fain Family established a homestead and introduced cattle to the area. The Fain Family continues to play a large part in the development of Prescott Valley.
In 1966, the Town of Prescott Valley was founded. By the early 1970s, the population had grown to a whopping 600 people a figure which has since expanded to a population of about 25,000.
In addition to area attractions in other parts of the Tri City area, Prescott Valley features:
- The Mountain Valley Park Amphitheatre seating 30,000
- The Yavapai Downs Track for horse racing and other community activities
- The Town Center, home to unique shops, restaurants, a 14-screen Cineplex, and the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center
- Soon to be home to an extension hospital of Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
The Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce puts it on paper as well as anyone: Were a town with a future as bright as the Arizona sunshine.
